What is this?

Personal homepages, the 2002 way. You claim a lot in a neighbourhood and build a page on it from blinking text, marquees, 88x31 buttons, a hit counter, a guestbook and a MIDI player. You link it to other pages in webrings. There is no feed and no algorithm, only links.

How do I get a page?

Six neighbourhoods (Basement, Arcade, Garage, Chatroom, Library, Backyard) have 1,024 lots each. Claiming a lot burns 200,000 $ROI (0.02% of the supply) and mints the lot to you as an NFT. The lot's address is your page: /library/0007. Sell the NFT and the page moves with it.

What does it cost to keep?

The claim includes the first 30 days. After that, upkeep is 50,000 $ROI per 30 days, burned. Anyone can pay it for any lot. An unpaid page shows "404 moved" but the lot stays yours: pay and it comes back.

Who visits counts?

Only real visitors. The server counts one visit per page per UTC day for each network (IPv4 /24, IPv6 /64) and each browser. The visit counts after the page has been open and visible for 3 seconds and the browser has solved a small proof of work. Known bots are dropped. Refreshing does nothing.

Page of the day

At 00:00 UTC the day closes. The page with the most real visitors that day, if its lot is claimed and paid up, is the page of the day. Its owner receives 40% of that day's $ROI trading fees in ETH. The count is published at /api/tally?day=YYYY-MM-DD and sits on chain for a 6-hour challenge window before the payout, so a farmed count can be stopped. The top 10 of the day are on the portal, live.

Where the fees go

$ROI carries a 5% creator tax on trades, paid to the Webmaster contract. Every day it splits: 40% to the page of the day, 40% buys $ROI and burns it, 20% pays hosting and development.

Where burned $ROI goes

Every $ROI paid for lots, upkeep, signatures and rings goes into the Burner contract. It has one way out: once a day it burns everything it holds through the HoodLock burner, where each burn is recorded publicly.

What can I put on my page?

Blocks only: text in 2000s fonts, headings, marquees, blinking text, pictures and animated GIFs from the house gallery, 88x31 buttons, links to other lots, a hit counter, a guestbook, a MIDI player, a webring bar. No raw HTML, no scripts, no outside links. Pages render in a locked sandbox. MIDI plays only when a visitor presses Play.

Rules

No illegal content, no harassment, no sexual content, no scams, no impersonation. Every page has a Report button. The webmaster reads reports and takes pages down; a page that is down cannot be page of the day.
